In a few days, I’m going to have to take a 4-day trip out of town. This immediately gets me worried.
People (well okay… “I”) make all kinds of excuses for not sticking to a plan. For example, when I used to travel for work, I was Ms. Excuses Galore. “There’s mainly fast food in the airport”. “The state’s food of choice is bacon-wrapped donuts”. “I can’t find a decent salad”. “It’s too hard to stay raw when I travel”. Blah, blah, blah-dee blah blah.
I admit that I was thrown for a loop at the lack of immediate veggie options when I traveled, but that doesn’t mean that there are NONE. The fact is, if one is so inclined and does enough pre-planning, it shouldn’t be that hard to be raw, vegan, or vegetarian wherever you are. Vegetarian options are offered on planes. Starbucks sells salads. Hotels have fresh fruit for continental breakfast. If all else fails, grocery stores abound and you can grab some food of your own, thereby nixing the restaurant dependency issue. All it takes is some pre-planning and sticktuitiveness.
Now, it CAN be harder when sticking to a juice fast when you’re on the road, but… WAIT! Was that just an EXCUSE that I spouted?!?!?! I believe it was! PLENTY of people have stuck to their juicy guns on the road. They may not stick the Omega juicer in the suitcase, but a Magic Bullet and nut milk bag may just do the trick.
Being the Virgo I am, this may be a fabulous opportunity to create a plan of action, because I am officially throwing the excuses out the window!

Every time I read the title of your blog, I have the Talking Heads song “Wild Wild Life” go through my head! HAHA!
